ENGINEERING CITY

The Engineering City (EC) is a project based on public-private partnership, implemented with the cooperation and support of the Enterprise Incubator Foundation, the RA Government, the World Bank, the RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry, and the private sector.

The goal of the "Engineering City" initiative is to contribute to the further development of the Engineering and High Technologies (EHT) sector through the establishment of an Engineering City in Armenia, promoting the increase in competitiveness and productivity of the Armenian economy. 

The objectives of the Project are:

• Formation of Armenia's engineering cluster: facilitation of cooperation and networking of industry actors, deployment of joint production/resource laboratories,
• Creation of modern infrastructure, which includes Engineering Business Accelerator and co-working space, Engineering Center-Engineering Plaza, Museum of Science and Technology, Museum of Space and buildings of resident companies located in EC,
• Designing and furnishing of structures, laboratories and areas of shared resources in the EC,
• Concentration of knowledge on the "production" of high-tech competitive solutions and enterprises, providing support to companies for further development,
• Provision of shared resources and supporting infrastructure equipped with modern equipment and technologies, which are not available and too expensive for individual companies,
• Implementation of joint research programs with world-famous technological universities, promotion of cooperation
• Promoting the creation of new engineering companies and jobs,
• Acceleration of engineering enterprises, increasing productivity and export volumes,
• Training of qualified workforce - high technology specialists, engineers. 

The main areas of activity in the Engineering City:

• Automotive industry,
• 5G mobile communication,
• development of microcircuits,
• microelectronics,
• Industrial Internet of Things (Industrial IoT),
• radio electronic systems and complexes,
• biomedical engineering, etc.

The Engineering City is equipped with constantly updated state-of-the-art engineering equipment, research and prototyping laboratories, machine tools and production machines available both to EC residents and other engineering and high-tech companies.

Also, office spaces will be available for lease at the EC Engineering Business Accelerator building, which will enable emerging engineering and high-tech companies to operate at the Engineering City and take advantage of all the opportunities it provides.
