EIF is actively involved in the organization of various contests and competitions that support creativity, innovation, and enable the participants to test their ability and skills. Contests gather the best programming talent in Armenia and provide a platform for the ICT industry and academia to encourage innovation and professional development among the youth, and focus attention on the next generation of IT professionals.

Armenian Open Programming Competition

This annual event is organized for the purpose of determining the professional level and skills of ICT young professionals in the country.  Participation in the Training Camps is free and is organized jointly with leading IT companies such as Sun Microsystems and Microsoft Corporation.  The winner teams of the Contest are awarded with substantial prize money and other awards. 

Imagine Cup Armenia

Imagine Cup is the world’s premier technology for IT students with over 100 participant countries and regions. The events are focused around Microsoft technology that encourages young people to apply their imagination, passion, and creativity to technology innovations to offer real-world solutions to real-world problems. The competition has been running for nine years; each year the World finals are held in different countries. Since its inception, Imagine Cup has grown to more than 325,000 registered students from all over the world.

In Armenia Imagine Cup has been held since 2008 as a joint effort of EIF, Microsoft RA and Microsoft Innovation Center. Winner teams of the Armenian competition are granted an opportunity to present their ideas and innovative solutions at the Microsoft Imagine Cup World’s finals. It is a chance for the country’s young professionals to compete with like-minded peers and to be recognized for their innovative thinking and technical abilities by global industry leaders and academics.
