Microsoft Innovation Center

The network of Microsoft Innovation Centers (MIC) operates worldwide, providing local IT communities with programs and services to expand work-force skills, create jobs, market incubation for the local startup community, strengthen innovation and improve competitiveness.

Microsoft Innovation Center Armenia jointly established by United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Microsoft Corporation and EIF in 2011, now joins the global network of innovation expansion and development in IT.

MIC Armenia is an innovative and effective approach to build core competencies in business and soft skills in technology among a growing number of small and medium IT companies. It also encourages education institutions to embrace new knowledge to meet the current and future market demand by providing an infrastructure and resources.

The Center initiates, organizes, and implements various targeted projects and activities, which include:

• Programs to support the development of innovative IT products in various spheres; 
• Competitions that encourage people to apply their imagination, their passion, and their creativity to technology innovations;
• Trainings that provides resources to develop a qualified workforce and to maintain their expertise; and
• Resources and infrastructure to support IT start-ups, professionals, and students, giving them access to the latest tools and technologies.

Microsoft BizSpark Program

BizSpark is an innovative new program that unites start-ups with global entrepreneurial and technology resources in one community, with a common goal of supporting and accelerating the success of a new generation of high-potential startups.

Competitions

MIC sponsors the Imagine Cup and Small Grants competitions that are centered on student technology using Microsoft tools and technologies. These competitions encourage young people to apply their imagination, passion, and creativity to technology innovations that can make a difference in the world.

Trainings 

MIC trainings include Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Soft Skills, Business Administration, and an infrastructure to support IT start-ups, professionals and students, giving them access to the latest tools and technologies.

Resources and Infrastructure

MIC Armenia provides the Resources and infrastructure to small medium ICT enterprises and start-ups that include: conference facilities, library, laboratories, access to professional equipment, latest technologies and software from the leading industry vendors - to help and support the development of new ideas and value-added business solutions.
