ANNONCEMENT

R&D Engineer / Scientist – Advanced Prototyping & Simulation

Join EIF-Science Incubator's new Advanced Prototyping and Simulation Center and help shape the future of innovation. We’re looking for a hands-on R&D Engineer/Scientist who can turn bold ideas into powerful digital models.

In this role, you will:

  • Build and test digital twins of complex systems using advanced simulation tools and MBSE.
  • Run in silico experiments to reduce risk, optimize designs, and guide product decisions before prototypes are built.
  • Work side-by-side with prototyping and testing labs to validate your models with real data.

You will work in a fully integrated, closed-loop R&D ecosystem, collaborating directly with our prototyping and characterization labs to validate your models against empirical data.

This is a hands-on technical role for an expert who excels at first-principles problem-solving and seeks to have a direct impact on accelerating and de-risking the R&D lifecycle.

If you’re passionate about solving problems from first principles, love working with cutting-edge tools, and want to make a direct impact on next-generation products, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Multiphysics Modeling & Simulation: Create and analyze high-fidelity "Digital Twins" of proposed concepts, simulating the interplay of phenomena across thermal, electromagnetic, structural, and fluidic domains.
  • In Silico Experimentation & Optimization: Subject digital twins to a battery of virtual tests to optimize designs, identify critical parameters through sensitivity analysis, and predict potential failure modes.
  • Data Analysis & Technical Reporting: Be responsible for authoring detailed "Virtual Feasibility Reports" that contain simulation results, performance predictions, and data-backed recommendations on a concept's technical viability.
  • Model Validation & Refinement: In a closed-loop workflow, you will compare simulation predictions with empirical data from the characterization lab to continuously refine and enhance the predictive accuracy of our models.
  • Technical Consultation & Design Guidance: Work closely with project teams to abstract their concepts into testable models and provide expert guidance based on your simulation findings to inform the design process.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computational Engineering, or a related scientific/technical field.
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience with multiphysics simulation software (e.g., COMSOL, ANSYS, CST, HFSS).
  • Strong foundational knowledge in at least one of the following: finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), or electromagnetics.
  • Proficiency with CAD software for model creation and preparation.
  • A deep understanding of the scientific method and a passion for data-driven, first-principles problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken) for effective collaboration in an international environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches to complex projects.
  • Hands-on experience with physical prototyping techniques (e.g., 3D printing, CNC machining) and characterization tools.
  • Programming skills for automation and data analysis (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
  • Specialized expertise in designing and validating models for RF/microwave systems or thermal management.

Location: Engineering City, Armenia

Application Process։

Interested candidates should submit their CVs, a cover letter detailing their relevant experience to [email protected] indicating in the Subject line "R&D Engineer / Scientist" by September 15, 2025 (including). Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
